Life Coaching by Susan Miller

The Sound of Music captures my heart; it's one of my favorites by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Maria, the protagonist, embarks on a spiritual journey to find purpose and meaning. We witness her strength of will, the love she cultivates for her chosen family, and her yearning for a better life. "A dream that will need all the love you can give, every day of your life for as long as you live."

Mountain climbing wasn't my cup of tea. Ballroom dancing, where I could lose myself in a Viennese waltz, was more my style. I confess, I'm no seasoned hiker or climber, and the mere thought of rock faces sends shivers down my spine. I prefer gentle forest walks amongst the trees. In fact, a traumatic experience clinging to a rock face in Sedona left me petrified of heights. What fear paralyzes you?

My birthday rolled around, and my then-partner (now husband) passionately raved about mountain climbing. Unconvinced but feeling strong and in shape, fueled by my years of yoga, I remarked with a hint of hope that conquering Mt. Washington, the Northeast's crown jewel, would be a remarkable feat for me. After all, I'd already visited with my kids, taking the scenic drive up and down.

Before I could conjure excuses, plans solidified for a New Hampshire trip to climb Mt. Washington on my birthday. Excitement surged, but as the day approached, panic set in. What if my feet froze upon reaching the base?

On June 23, 2017, I stood triumphant at Mt. Washington's 6,288-foot summit. My smile reflects the journey's reward. I turned fear into fuel, traversing rocks with every beat of my pounding heart. The last mile was brutal, but with each deliberate step, I chanted, "One step, Susan, that's all you need."

Coaching
My coaching style is centered on listening deeply, offering support, and guiding you in finding solutions to the challenges you face. Life transitions such as divorce, career changes, loss of a loved one, or a serious illness like cancer can make the road ahead feel overwhelming. In times like these, it’s common to feel stuck in a cycle of stress—emotionally, mentally, and physically. My role is to be a compassionate and empathetic presence, helping you navigate these difficult topics with care and understanding.
Coaching is a dynamic, thought-provoking partnership between coach and client. It fosters self-discovery and empowers you to gain clarity about your true desires and how you want to live your life.

About Me
I've worked in healthcare for over 20 years, many of them spent in hospitals helping patients reduce stress and anxiety through the use of mind body modalities such as breathwork and guided meditation. As an owner of a health and wellness business I studied the therapeutic use of yoga, massage and bodywork for inner peace. All of these experiences contribute to my unique style of coaching. It is my belief that when we lose alignment with our true selves and desires, our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being suffer.

My mission is to help individuals find purpose and fulfillment in their lives at all stages.
